Adacari wasn't in a bad mood. Not, exactly. She was more... lonely and unmotivated than that. It was time for another meal, and the Salki girl still hadn't shown up yet. After she ate, she would have to go to her house and take the wolfonfly she had challenged her with.
She reached her tail into the prize cage, and was surprised when she felt the soft tail in her grasp that meant only one thing, she had grabbed the cat wolfonfly, the Lucid with it's six lovely legs and tasty tail. It also happened to be her first challenger, and it had belonged to Salki, and happened to be one of the prizes she wanted.
Funny how things work out like that sometimes.
She carefully worked her tail, and her meal, out through the bars of the cage and trotted to the amphitheater with it. She laid it down rather more gently than before, and looked at it.
She felt... almost like she cared about this creature who's only purpose was to feed her with its meat. It had fought well, no fear, something that Adacari greatly valued.
She didn't feel particularily hungry for fear and pain, although she could feel the contained fear rolling off of the creature in waves.
She tilted her head at it, and then lifted her two front legs high, half rearing before bringing them both down, right through its heart. "Slate." She whispered to it as its lifeblood quickly pumped out. "You fought well." She had no idea why she said it, or why she had killed it in this way. It was likely the least painful way that Adacari had ever killed before, and she didn't understand it. The flash of pain and terror from it was brief, and quickly faded away, leaving nothing else behind.
She waited until she was sure it was dead before beginning to eat, savoring each leg, and especially the tail. She saved the blood for last, and quickly licked it off the floor, washing down her meal with it.
She felt sleepy, and resolved to go and get the other wolfonfly as soon as she woke up. With a small sigh, she folded her legs under her and closed her eyes, asleep within a few minutes in a corner of the amphitheater.
