Stuff from WL's site that will be revised, reworked, and added to the Guide. May be inaccurate until reworked.
If this is really messy, I apologize. The Guide is still in its very early stages. It's better than nothing though, right? Most of this will be reorganized and the words changed to make more sense, but the ideas will stay the same.
Now then, the Guide is not meant to be the exact way you play the game. It just has all the information, tips, tricks and hints that I deem relevant. You may play this game however you wish. If you want to try to collect one of each wolfonfly, start an army of a certain adult form, or even forget about the wolfonflies entirely and just collect the little pets for them, that's entirely up to you. The Guide focuses mostly on those who wish to collect one of each kind of wolfonfly, but again, these are only guidelines, if you want to do something differently than what is found in the guide, you certainly may.
Terms
First off are common wolfonfly terms that are frequently used throughout the site and forums. These will be put in alphabetical order soon.
Form Often called an adult form, a form is an adult wolfonfly that has a specific look. For instance, the blue wolfonfly in the top right corner is a form. If it happened to change to a red one, it would be considered a different form even though it would still be the same wolfonfly.
OutcomeMost wolfonflies have two outcomes. That is to say, there are two different ways they can grow up. An outcome is different than a form and the two should never be mixed up. One outcome of a wolfonfly is often rarer than the other. Which outcome your wolfonfly will be is determined as soon as you adopt them, though in some cases the stages are the same until they reach the adult stage.
Stage A stage is simply the different line art your wolfonfly goes through. All wolfonflies start out as eggs, then proceed to blobs (no, your wolfonfly did not die, blob is just a stage) then pups, and finally adults. After they become an adult, some wolfonflies still change form, but not stage anymore.
Normal Wolfonfly Also known as common or six-legged wolfonflies, normal wolfonflies are the most common of the wolfonflies. They each have six legs, and are always available for adoption, being found in the egg called wolfonfly as well as egg2, egg3, etc. They change form every 10 clicks they get after they reach the adult stage and stop changing at level 100 or 1000 clicks.
Rare Wolfonfly Also known as the Wild or four-legged wolfonfly. Rare wolfonflies differ from the normals in several ways. The three most important ways is that not all rare eggs are available for adoption at all times (usually only 1 - 3 are) once they reach adult they do not change form, and they have four legs at adult stage instead of six.
Freezing Freezing is stopping a wolfonfly from gaining clicks in order to keep it at the form it currently is. You can unfreeze a wolfonfly at any time.
Now that you know some of the more common terms, it's time to dive right into some common subjects.
The Pound
The Pound is where unwanted wolfonflies and wolfonfly pets are sent so they can find a new owner. In order to adopt from the pound simply send me (Wolf) a message with the I.D numbers of the pets you wish to adopt. It is very important that you send me the I.D number of the pets and NOT their names. The I.D number can be seen by clicking on the pet. The number on the end of the url in the address box is the pet's I.D number.
In order to abandon pets, you send me a PM with the I.D numbers of the ones you no longer want. In both cases the pets will be moved to the specified place and a PM will be sent back to you indicating the success of it.
Any and all adoptables can be sent to the pound. Want to send your breeding potion to the pound? Well, go ahead XD
Now that you know how the pound works, here are a few pointers to ensure that everyone can enjoy it.
Send all unwanted pets to the pound, really, if you aren't going to do anything with them, the Pound is the place they should be. I'm sure that somewhere on this site is a person who very much wants your unwanted pet, but they can't own it unless you donate it.
Trading, in my opinion, should only be used for offspring, as all the rest of the wolfonflies can be adopted from the Adopt Wolfonflies page.
As well, if you see a wolfonfly you want in the pound, well, adopt it. You may not have the chance again to find one exactly like that in the pound.
And, above all, be fair and considerate. The pound is for everyone, so please don't ask for 100 of them at once or something, leave some for the rest.
Super Special Wolfonflies
Super special wolfonflies can only be obtained in one way. If you advertise the site and post a link to where you advertised on the "Have you advertised" thread in the forums, you will get one random free super special! So what's so special about super special? They are the only wolfonflies on the site that don't have dragonfly wings. Instead they come in five variates. Nowing, chibiwing, dragonwing, birdwing, and butterflywing.
But wait, there's more. These wolfonflies can breed once without a potion, not even in breeding season! And if you breed them to another super special, you can breed them with a friend's, as they are also the only wolfonflies that will breed with a wolfonfly that doesn't belong to their owner. Not only that, but they have two pups in each litter! Truly these are wondrous creatures.
How to get Clicks
Clicks are what makes your wolfonfly grow. Thus, if you don't post them somewhere people can click on them, they will grow very slowly, with only the clicks from people on this site who happen to click them. The best bet for making your wolfonfly grow fast is through a click site. I use hydra www.idarionis.com:9500/index.php?ak=Faq Just make sure to take your wolfonfly off of it when it gets enough clicks. It's very easy to leave them on overnight and come back to a wolfonfly with far more clicks than you wanted it to have.
How to get Skim Bucks
Skim Bucks are the money here on WL. You get 20 to start out with, but then have to earn the rest. Clicking other's, and your own wolfonflies gives you one Skim Buck per click. Most things are pretty cheap, so don't worry that you'll have to click for hours to get the next Mixer or GIMP, although for things like breeding potions it'll take a bit longer.
I recommend going to the user's online list, picking a user at random (or you can go in order) and clicking on their wolfonflies. Users with a lot of rare (four legged) wolfonflies tend to have more opportunity for you to get Skim Bucks, as people hardly ever freeze rare wolfonflies. Since frozen wolfonflies don't give you Skim Bucks, try to avoid these ones if you can. Sometimes it's very hard to tell which of a user's wolfonflies are frozen.
Items. This page will tell you what they are, how to use them, and so on. It is designed to be a simple page, without too much to read. If you need more information, please PM me.
Remember, to use ANY item you must PM me.
And yes, you can name your items. Want to name your breeding potion Bob? Go right ahead.
Potions
Potions are little bottles with liquid in them. You give them to your wolfonflies, they drink it, and then are able to do what the potion is called, such as breed, or have two pups in their next litter. Potions are one use items and disappear after being used. They are usually fairly expensive, and not always in stock.
Pets
Pets are little (usually 50 X 50 pixels or less) non wolfonfly animals that you can buy. You may either keep the pet separate from your wolfonflies, or add it to one of your wolfonflies. NOTE: Once a pet is added to a wolfonfly, it will no longer change when it levels up. Be sure your wolfonfly is at the correct form, as you can not take a pet off of a wolfonfly. Wolfonflies may however have multiple pets, and you can choose where on the wolfonfly you would like the pet to be (standing by their hind legs, on their head, back, etc) Please specify where and on which wolfonfly (include I.D of wolfonfly) you would like your pet to be placed. Once a pet has been attached to a wolfonfly, the single adoptable of it will be deleted.
Misc Items
Misc items are mostly accessories such as bracelets, necklaces, collars, harnesses, etc. They are one size fits most, which means not every item will work on every wolfonfly. They are cheap, usually only 5 Skim Bucks each or so.
Transfer Blank
The almighty transfer blank is in a category all its own. This lovely item allows people to transfer pets and items to each other without the other person having to give them something in return. Transfer Blanks are, basically, placeholders. They're free. You adopt one when someone wants to give you a pet or item, put it up for trade, and trade it for that pet or item. They can then keep the blank for future transfers, or delete it, as it is worth nothing.
That's all for now. Come back whenever a new type of item is placed in the shop.
